NextGen CM/ECF

Last Updated: Nov. 5, 2018.

On February 4, 2019, the Court will implement a new version of the Case Management/Electronic Case Filing System (CM/ECF). The new system is called "NextGen". NextGen simplifies electronic filing by combining CM/ECF and PACER accounts, enabling filers to use one login and password to electronically file in all NextGen courts where they have been granted permission to file.

Prior to February 4, 2019, electronic filers may need to make changes to their existing PACER accounts; ALL filers and filing agents will need an individual PACER account.

**The Court will not issue any new ECF accounts after January 25, 2019.

**The CM/ECF system will be unavailable February 1, 2019 at 6:00pm until February 4, 2019 at 8:00am.

WAWB NextGen Implementation Timeline

What You Need to Do Now to Prepare for NextGen

If you are currently an electronic filer, you need to upgrade your existing PACER account:

Individual PACER accounts created prior to August 11, 2014, must be upgraded. PACER accounts that have not been updgraded will not be compatible with NextGen.

Register for an individual PACER account if you do not have one currently:

Shared PACER accounts cannot be used once the Court upgrades to NextGen. You must have your own individual PACER account, which will be linked to your CM/ECF filing account.

Questions regarding PACER accounts should be directed to the PACER Service Center at pacer@psc.uscourts.gov or (800) 676-6856.
