Student Loan Resources

Individual debtors may have questions about outstanding student loans and whether those student loans obligations are dischargeable in bankruptcy. The following resources are available:

• Discharge proceedings must be initiated by an adversary proceeding, a lawsuit arising in or related to a bankruptcy case.
• In November, 2022, the federal government announced a new process for evaluating student loan discharge actions filed in bankruptcy proceedings
