1. National Rules and Forms.

2. National Changes, Bankruptcy Court Miscellaneous Fee Schedule.

    a. Direct Appeal to Court of Appeals Increased to $505: The Judicial Conference has approved an increase from $157 to $207 to the fee assessed when a direct bankruptcy appeal is accepted by a court of appeals. The Bankruptcy Miscellaneous Fee Schedule, 28 USC § 1930, requires a $293 filing fee for an appeal, plus the increased direct appeal fee of $207, plus an additional $5 statutory fee for a total of $505. The direct appeal fee will be the same as the fee for filing an appeal with a court of appeals from a district court or bankruptcy appellate panel.

    b. New $25 Fee for Redaction of Previously Filed Records with Personal Identifiers: The Judicial Conference established a $25 fee to file a motion to redact personal identifiers from a previously filed record in a bankruptcy case. The fee is charged on a per case basis. If the redaction is sought in a closed case, a reopening fee is not charged if reopening is solely for the purpose of redaction.
