The Honorable Christopher M. Alston is appointed as Chief Judge of the Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Washington, effective October 1, 2023.  Judge Alston was appointed to the bench on June 15, 2015, and maintains chambers in Seattle, Washington.

Judge Alston's term as Chief Judge follows that of Judge Marc L. Barreca, who has served as Chief Judge of the Court since October 1, 2019. The Court expresses its appreciation to Judge Barreca for his leadership and service and congratulates Judge Alston on his appointment.
