The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (the VA) recently announced efforts to help Veterans stay in their homes:

• The VA will be extending its COVID-19 Refund Modification Program through May 31, 2024. The program allows Veterans to obtain VA loans to cover missed payments and modify existing VA-guaranteed loans with the goal of achieving affordable monthly payments.
• The VA has asked mortgage servicers to pause foreclosure of VA-guaranteed loans through May 31, 2024. During the pause the VA intends to work with servicers to find workable home retention solution for Veterans.
