Business Owner Who Lied in Bankruptcy Proceedings Pleads Guilty to Perjury

The U.S. Attorney's Office, Western District of Washington, announced that the operator of a business that abused bankruptcy filings to get drivers licenses reinstated pleaded guilty to perjury this week. The business owner admitted to providing unauthorized legal advice and filing fraudulent bankruptcy forms, contrary to previous testimony given during a deposition with a United States Trustee. In addition to facing a 5 year prison sentence, the defendant will pay restitution to former clients and the United States Trustee.
